Summary

At Weald Property Works, we believe in clear communication and fair dealing. These Terms & Conditions outline how we work, what you can expect from us, and how we ensure every job runs smoothly. They’re designed to protect both you as the customer and us as a business, ensuring transparency, safety, and mutual respect at every stage.

By accepting a quotation or asking us to proceed with work, you agree to these terms.

  1. General
    1. These Terms and Conditions apply to all work carried out by Weald Property Works (“the Company”) for its customers (“the Client”).
    2. By requesting or accepting a quotation, or by instructing work to proceed, the Client agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
    3. Weald Property Works provides general property maintenance and handyman services to domestic and small commercial clients.

  2. Estimates & quotations
    1. Weald Property Works generally provides estimates rather than fixed quotations, as the nature of maintenance and repair work can be subject to variation depending on access, condition, or unforeseen circumstances.
    2. All estimates are provided in good faith and represent a reasonable assessment of the anticipated cost of labour and materials based on the information available at the time of issue.
    3. The final invoice amount may differ from the original estimate should additional work, time, or materials be required once the job is underway. Any significant variations will be communicated to the Client and agreed before further work is carried out.
    4. Formal quotations can be provided upon request where the scope of work can be clearly defined and access conditions are known. Once accepted in writing, such quotations will constitute a fixed price for the agreed work.
    5. All estimates and quotations remain valid for a period of 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated in writing.

  3. Weekend and Bank Holiday Rates
    1. Standard labour rates apply to work carried out Monday to Friday, between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
    2. Work carried out outside these hours, including evenings, weekends and UK bank holidays, may be subject to an additional supplement. Any applicable supplement will be confirmed before the work is booked.
    3. Work carried out at weekends or on UK bank holidays is subject to a 25% supplement on the applicable standard labour rate.
    4. Any applicable supplement will be included in the estimate or quotation where the date and timing of the work are known at the time of pricing.

  4. Materials
    1. Small fixings, screws, and sealants are included where reasonable.
    2. Larger materials, fittings, or specific items required for the job are charged separately at cost.
    3. Materials purchased on behalf of the Client remain the property of Weald Property Works until paid for in full.

  5. Payment Terms
    1. Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
    2. For larger projects, the following staged payment structure applies:
      1. 30% deposit payable within 3 working days of acceptance of the estimate. The booking is provisional until the deposit has been received. We reserve the right to release the booking and reallocate the installation date if the deposit is not received within this period.
      2. 40% payable when the primary materials and components are delivered to site (for example, sheds, doors, windows, fencing, kitchen units or other major items).
      3. The remaining 30% balance is due upon practical completion of the works.

    3. Payment can be made by bank transfer, credit or debit card, or cash using the details provided on the invoice.
    4. Late payments may incur statutory interest and recovery costs in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

  6. Cancellations and Rescheduling
    1. The Client may cancel or reschedule an appointment by giving at least 3 working days written notice.
    2. Cancellations, postponements or requests to reschedule made within 3 working days of the agreed start date, or failure to provide access to the Property at the agreed time, may result in the retention of all or part of any deposit paid.
    3. Where no deposit has been paid, Weald Property Works reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of up to 30% of the booked labour value, together with the full cost of any non-returnable materials purchased, subcontractor charges or other reasonable costs incurred.
    4.
