City & Guilds

This qualification, commonly known as PAT Testing covers the safe inspection, testing, and management of electrical equipment to confirm its suitability for continued use. It ensures items are checked methodically, risks are identified, and accurate records are maintained.

This qualification supports our approach to carrying out electrical work safely, correctly, and in line with recognised standards.

Repair Care Advanced Training – Level 1 & Level 2

Weald Property Works is Repair Care Level 1 & Level 2 trained, meaning timber decay is properly diagnosed and repaired using recognised best-practice conservation methods rather than surface-level fixes.

Level 1 - Contractor Training focuses on correctly identifying timber rot, understanding why it has occurred, and carrying out appropriate localised repairs where full replacement is not necessary.

Repair Care Advanced Contractor – Level 2

Level 2 - Advanced Contractor training builds on this by covering more advanced repair techniques, including structural timber repairs and larger section replacements using the Repair Care resin system. This allows severely damaged timber to be restored while retaining as much of the original material as possible.

For our customers, this means:

  • Timber decay is assessed properly, not guessed
  • Repairs address the cause as well as the visible damage
  • Advanced repair systems are used rather than basic filler patches
  • Larger structural repairs can often be carried out without full replacement
  • Honest advice if replacement is the safer or more appropriate option

This training underpins our approach to timber repairs - practical, sympathetic to the building, and focused on durable, long-term results rather than short-term cosmetic fixes.

DBS Criminal Record Check – Enhanced

Weald Property Works holds a current Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Check, providing additional reassurance when working in and around your home.

An Enhanced DBS check is the highest level of criminal record check available and is commonly required for roles involving trust, access to private properties, or contact with vulnerable individuals.

This means customers can feel confident that:

  • Background checks have been carried out to the highest standard
  • Work is carried out professionally, respectfully, and responsibly
  • Your home, belongings, and privacy are treated with care

For many customers - particularly those with families, elderly clients, or landlords - this adds an extra layer of confidence when choosing a local tradesperson.

Please ask us for a copy of our DBS Certificate if required.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Property maintenance and handyman work isn’t static — materials change, regulations evolve, and best practice improves over time. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) ensures we stay up to date, informed, and working safely.

CPD training helps us:

  • Work safely in a wide range of environments and properties
  • Understand current health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Reduce risk to customers, occupants, and ourselves
  • Identify hazards before they become problems
  • Carry out work responsibly and professionally

Many of the tasks involved in everyday handyman and property maintenance work — such as drilling, lifting, cutting, fixing, working at height, or dealing with older buildings — come with real risks if not handled correctly. CPD training ensures those risks are understood and managed properly.

For our customers, CPD provides reassurance that:

  • Work is carried out with safety and care in mind
  • Current best practices are followed
  • You’re dealing with a tradesperson who takes their responsibilities seriously

Environment Agency
Registered Waste Carrier (Lower Tier)

Weald Property Works is registered with the Environment Agency as a Lower Tier Waste Carrier, meaning we are authorised to safely and legally remove and dispose of waste produced during our work.

This includes items such as old fixtures, timber, packaging, garden waste, and general construction or maintenance debris.

Being a registered waste carrier means we:

  • Dispose of waste responsibly and in line with local regulations
  • Use approved recycling and disposal facilities
  • Help prevent fly-tipping and illegal dumping
  • Take our environmental responsibility seriously

Waste removal and disposal is priced separately, as costs vary depending on the type and volume of waste involved. Any charges will always be discussed and agreed in advance, with no surprises.

For our customers, this provides peace of mind that any waste removed from your property is handled correctly, ethically, and legally.

Confirm our registration on the Environment Agency website.

ICO Registration (Data Protection)

Weald Property Works is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at the Tier One level. This means we comply with UK data protection laws and take your privacy seriously.

In simple terms, any personal information you share with us - such as your name, phone number, email address, or address when requesting a quote - is handled responsibly, kept secure, and never misused.

Being ICO registered shows that we:

  • Follow UK GDPR and data protection requirements
  • Only collect information we genuinely need to provide our services
  • Store customer details securely
